Stockfiller is the independent purchasing platform where the food industry meets. A digital trading place where grocery stores and restaurants meet and order goods from hundreds of external suppliers at the same time. Stockfiller increases sales and saves time for both buyers and sellers and can be used in your phone, tablet or computer with connected suppliers and stores throughout Sweden.

The Challenge

Back in 2016 Stockfiller was a young startup which had ambitious plan to to make sourcing in the food industry easier, smarter and more sustainable, by connecting the suppliers and B2B clients - the stores, retail chains and the restaurants via a single platform. The founders started their business with a technical solution that used a standard PrestaShop e-commerce store as the basis of the platform, yet as the business started developing, they quickly realized the platform was not able to handle the excessive complexity of the workflows, user rights, order structures, price lists, etc. With the ever-growing complexity of the tasks, the system was quickly in need to improve its efficiency.

What We Did

Cooperation between Stockfiller and Invertus began shortly after the service's launch, with the purchase of one of Invertus' plugins, which required customization. Following the initial small-scale project, the Swedish startup contracted Invertus developers as dedicated resources for its project on a time-and-material basis.

As the business developed, the client decided to create a bespoke, purpose-built system based on microservices, which significantly improved efficiency and scalability. A dedicated team of Invertus developers played a significant role in creating both the backend and Frontend applications for the platforms, later taking on the role of an Extended team to take full ownership of the Frontend solution. The cooperation between the businesses continues to this day, approaching a milestone of 10 years of collaboration.

  • Stockfiller in cooperation with Frigoscandia developed a bespoke Leap Delivery system which ensures accurate delivery schedules, and minimizes the climate impact using the LTL deliveries across wide Frigoscandia network.
  • With Stockfiller Klipp, suppiers can conduct flash sales of products with shorter best before date, or overstock goods with a 30-70 % discounts.

The Result

  • Stockfiller currently has 6000+ professional buyers and 2000+ suppliers across Sweden including major retail chains, individual stores, restaurants.
  • The system directly contributes to efficiency of operations on both buyers and suppliers side by ensuring timely, predictable and strictly controlled delivery schedules.
  • With Stockfiller Klipp, the platform reduces food waste, and tackles issues of possible overproduction or other types of surplus stock on the supplier side.
